Chetan Bhagat on Firecracker Ban: Curbing Religion or Curbing Pollution?

The Supreme Court on Monday has finally banned the sale of firecrackers in the Delhi-National Capital. The ban on the sale of firecrackers will apply till 1 November. Maybe it looks like it was yesterday’s settlement to ban firecrackers but the truth is the matter has been building up for years and it was in 2015 when it started to become visible when it finally reached the Supreme Court. Now, since the news has taken its storm and with social media everyone’s outlook could be plated, different heads are projecting different opinions.

In a country where it takes only a few religious views to shift its focus from the main concern, the light of Supreme Court’s Ban for crackers has been shifted to – Why such ban is for “Hindu” festival? For instance, public figures like Chetan Bhagat and Kushan Mitra looked disturbed with the decision and tweeted on how the problem of pollution should be looked into with a bigger perspective by putting concern on everyday stuff, as banning on a day which comes once in a year is not a solution.

Do you believe some times it is logical to put logic on things that are logical than putting on things which are manifested to look logical. Trust me with this tweet you will feel closer to my statement:

Well, this is how it got started. A wise intention on looking forward to more ways of avoiding pollution was overshadowed when he asked to refer to another sensitive custom which another religion holds.

Soon he was smashed with different opinions-

Now, I will be leaving you to decide whether putting the religion issue in the climax was a better insight, or smashing with personal doubts like these folks had?

Here are quick tips on how you can stay out of all the dramas and still act as a lead to your lifestyle

-Remember to turn off lights, computers, and electric appliances when not in use.

-Use energy efficient light bulbs and appliances.

-Keep your automobile well-tuned and maintained. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on routine maintenance, such as changing the oil and filters, and checking tire pressure and wheel alignment.

-Avoid excessive idling of your automobile.

And, lastly we won’t nudge your dogma on if-Diwali-could-be-celebrated-without-crackers-or-not, but it’s wise to elevate your attitude towards the requirement of circumstances.

Happy and Safe Diwali!
