Actor and MP, Vinod Khanna, passes away at the age of 70

Vinod Khanna, the veteran actor, died at the age of 70 at Mumbai’s HN Reliance Hospital.He had been suffering from a bout of ill health and hence, had been hospitalized in March. His son, actor Rahul Khanna, told the press that his father had been suffering from severe dehydration and the doctors hoped to discharge him soon. He also felt overwhelmed with the people’s wishes shared for Vinod Khanna’s better health, all over the internet.

However, an image of Khanna senior went viral on the internet in which he looked frail and weak; his fans all around got worried about his health. Unconfirmed reports also claimed that the actor was undergoing a treatment for Cancer.

The actor had a career full of superhits and blockbusters. He started his career in 1968 and appeared in over 140 films. He was one of the most handsome men of the Indian Film Industry and typified the title ‘Matinee Idol’. Every movie he took a part in, he looked exceptionally smart and did complete justice to the role.

His sons, Akshaye and Rahul, followed his shoes into the show business. He also has two more children, from his second marriage, a son Saakshi and daughter Shraddha.

“Doctors and family were expecting a recovery but somehow his condition escalated and he succumbed today afternoon,” a source from the hospital said.

The accomplished actor and BJP M.P. took his last breath on the afternoon of April 27, 2017.
