With the board exams coming to an end, planning on taking a little break? Well don’t relax already, they might not be over, just yet.

It’s no surprise that throughout our schooling, the impending thought of board exams is a grey cloud that hovers over us. Board exams are a defining point in every student’s life, whether it be the board exam of class 10th where we decide our respective streams or the one in 12th that plays a decisive role in deciding the course of life we choose for us. It doesn’t come easy for anyone of us and so the pressure to perform is high and so is the level of expectation. Luck favor’s the brave but what if every once in a while it favor’s the lucky?

Exam papers being leaked is no big surprise in university and other institutes but in a recent turn of events, three persons, including two teachers of a convent school were arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Delhi Police Crime Branch for their alleged role in leaking the class XII Central Board of Secondary Education economics paper. Joint Commissioner of Police of the crime branch Alok Kumar said they have arrested, Rishab and Rohit, both teachers and alias Taufeeq Tauqeer, a tutor.

According to news sources both the arrested teachers are working with Mother Khazani Convent school situated in Mungeshpur village near Auchandi on Delhi-Haryana border. Other police sources also added that Tauqeer, who is working with a coaching center at Asthal Colony in Bawana sent question paper as well as solved answers after taking money, and the police are gathering evidence against them at the moment.

Tauqeer’s name had come up during interrogation of several students since Tuesday. Sources of news outlets said that one of the teams that is probing the economics paper leak had questioned several students, owners and employees of coaching centres in connection with the case who later gave up the name of five other accomplices including the teachers.

Tauqeer was detained on Friday night from Ghaziabad. On questioning Tauqeer disclosed before JCP Kumar, who is heading the SIT, that he was in constant touch with a teacher, school staff of a convent school. Police immediately sent their teams to the village, where the school is situated. The suspects were taken to the Crime Branch office in Shakarpur on Saturday evening where they were questioned by senior officials, police sources added.

CBSE is currently looking into the matter and has probed an investigation into it which could result in bad news for a number of students across the country as they might be asked to appear for a reexamination.
