Monsoon is the season of greenery, heavy downpours and beauty. However, the monsoon season invites a lot of health problems and infections. 1)    Never leave your house without an umbrella, jacket or raincoat

In order to shelter your body from these heavy downpours the most effective thing that you can do is to keep an umbrella or a raincoat handy before leaving your house. If you prefer jackets makes sure you use a hooded one paired with waterproof shoes. In case you get wet in the rain, be sure to have a warm shower as soon as you can to minimise our chances of contracting an infection.

2)    Consume a lot of hot drinks regularly

This season with its cold rains and wetness is a perfect time to enjoy hot drinks.  The best drinks to consume are hot chocolate, beverages like coffee or tea or even a glass of hot milk. These drinks will enable your body to fight infections and save you from the effects of change in the atmospheric temperature. They are best enjoyed after a hot bath.

3)    Maintain adequate cleanliness

It is essential that you maintain adequate cleanliness in your surrounding in the rainy season. Due to stagnation of water, it plays a huge role in serving as breeding ground for mosquitoes. Hygiene and cleanliness will prevent the growth of these microorganisms and other disease carriers. Use a hand sanitizer and wash your hands regularly to prevent the spread of these organisms especially if you have a fever or cold.

4)    Consume plenty of water and nutritious food

The best way to prevent infections is to consume plenty of water. Make sure to keep yourself hydrated at all times. Also make sure your diet has leafy green veggies, protein rich healthy food items along with ample amount of fruits to boost your body’s natural immunity.
